The Australian Foundation for Disability’s (AFFORD) Carer Support Programme works towards a vision of a person centered, family focused organisation that supports our clients and their families to achieve their best in life.    

The Australian Foundation for Disability provides a strategic framework for carers, based on the Carer Compass developed by the Kings Fund in the UK.   

This includes:   

• Education and Training to assist families to develop skills to assist in their caring roles.

• Navigating the welfare and dsability systems.   

• Access to resources that carers require. 

Acknowledging that our clients, employees and their carers are from culturally diverse backgrounds is an important part of delivering the Carer Support Programme. Translators and culturally specific workshops are available to our carers.
